so i just found out last week that the school trip to new york is a go! and im so excited. so heres some beautiful pictures to drool over till i go!!

so this is where i used to live. in this beautiful city. and i miss it. i miss walking around and taking pictures, these are all my pictures. and i miss my friends. and my little girls that i lived with.

more colour...

so i've been busy working away at my colour project. and its all been evolving as i go. usually when im working on a project i have a pretty good idea of what i want the end result to look like, but for this project the form and idea were something that i've never worked with before, and didn't really have a full idea of the outcome. but im really liking where its all going. i started working with the blues and greens in my sample work, but for the final stuff i printed a new colour scheme, of oranges and pinks. all of the fabric im using in hand screened/printed. so all of the orange/pink pictures are of the final idea. im going to be piecing the necklaces together tonight and tomorrow, so check back for more pictures later!!

Bugs!!

so heres what my final Bug Repeat design ended up looking like for my Digital Textiles class. I really love it. the bugs were originally a one colour print from last year, which means that i just printed them with only a black out line. and i printed them on a really large scale, some of the bugs were 3"-6". this design is for a smaller scale, and now they could be printed with the outline and then 3 colours.

so today is my day off, no classes. so im working on all the school work that i need to get done with in the next week! at the moment im trying to work on my colour project, making a prototype of one of my designs, but getting easily distracted by music and text messages!
theses pictures are of what im working on right now, next im going to make these little pod shapes out of my good dyed fabric.

i'm really wanting to go somewhere now. i'm suppose to be going to new york next month, but it sounds like the trip might be cancelled. and i wanna go so bad!! so if that trip doesn't happen, i'll be going somewhere for sure, just don't know where yet.

colour...

so this is a pile of bits for my colour project that im working on. next monday is our final studio critique of the year, and our final project is due. im working on a series of colourful pendants. and this pile is what i was working on the other day... stay tuned for more pictures to come..

camera bags...

so these are what my final camera bags look like. i really like how they turned out, and their pretty cute to keep my camera in! i printed the 2 colour image onto unbleached cotton, and then zig-zag stitched the image onto some cute fabric, and sewed it into a little zippered bag. stay tuned to see more of theses, i'm defiantly going to be making more this summer.

i just found these illustrations, and love them! i was drawing for part of the afternoon, and wish mine looked like these!!

live.laugh.love.

this is my hand embroidery project from my 'textiles investigation' class from last semester. we had to embroider a map about our selves. i had made a 'live' embroidery earlier in the fall, and decided that i wanted to use the 'live laugh love' phrase to describe me and where i have lived. along with those words i have also lived in 3 places, and felt like those words really described what those different places meant to me. the 'live' map is from when i lived in vienna, which i feel was an experience of a life time. the 'laugh' map is from where i live now at school, cause i have some crazy friends and we have some crazy fun times together. and the 'love' map is of home, where my family and my boyfriend live. all the green hearts on the maps represent my home in each place. it was a crazy intense project to do, and hand embroidery takes sooo much more time than you expect!! each letter took at least 1/2 an hour, plus all the maps. but i really love it, and it totally represents who i am. hope you like it too!

good client project pictures...

i just checked out the workroom's photostream and today she up loaded her pictures of our work from the client critique last week. i really like how some of the projects turned out, and the pictures look really nice.

pretty little houses...

i came across these beautiful houses online the other day (sorry, i dont remember where i found them), and i just love them. i wish i lived in a colourful house!!

cameras...

so in a few minutes im on my way to a drawing critique, where we're handing in a project that had to use our drawing skills in our studio materials. i've been doing ink drawings of cameras, and colour seperated the image into two, and exposed them on a silk screen. and this is what they look like! i ended up printing them onto a tee shirt, and also made a few cute little pouches/camera cases.
