window shopping...

so i was window shopping downtown this afternoon and came across some gorgeous Matt and Nat bags. i just love their line of bag, they are so pretty and well made. i really really want one. and i found these guys online, on sale for half price!! i almost got the credit card out right away, but i've decided to exercise a little restrain, and see if i still really want one in a few days, then i'll get one.
but i had a really nice time downtown, on this one shopping strip that i haven't been down in ages. i was eyeing out some places that i might try and get my line of scarves placed in. ohh and i did a little bit of shopping, i picked up this awesome necklace that i'll show you later. i have a weakness for statement necklaces right now, i have another awesome one that i got last week from a girl at the handmade vendors market.

camera bags...

some little pieces i was working on last week. these little guys are perfect as pencil cases, makeup bags, or just little tote to organize things. i had them on display last weekend with my collection of vintage cameras and people were pretty excited about it all.

bag love...

i would just love this bag to tote all my things around in this summer! its so big, and stylish, and could hold every single one of my things. i just love it.
i love a lot of Virginia Johnson's work, too bad the only item i have is a tad bit to warm for this weather! i can't quite rock even a light weight wool scarf in may!

I'm Done My Bags!!

So the project that we have due next week in our studio class is our Bag project, to produce a series of three bags. And I'm all done sewing mine!! Not that I'm all done the project tho, I still have labels to make and sketchbook to finish, but the bags are all done and put together!!! I dont think that I've ever been done a project this early. I must say that I'm very proud of my self. For this project I decided that I wanted to work with printing my own fabric, and then working with more of a simple shape for the bag. During our lectures and my research time I really found that I liked old utility bags, like mail bags, sailor bags, post sticker bags, and news paper boy bags. But I couldn't find one of those shapes that I really wanted to use, and felt more inclined to go with a more modern, hand bag. So thats what my project turned out to be, a series of purses with the printed themes of mail, sailor and newspaper. Hope you like them!
